My family in Braughing 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Hi,
My name is Carole and I am interested in contacting anyone who might remember any of my family who lived in Braughing. My grandmother was born in Newholme, which was also called Braughing House, her family whose name was Barron lived there for several generations. Her Aunt and Uncle owned the Axe and Compass public house, other family members manned the signal box when there was a station in the village. The two thatched cottages also belonged to my mother and her twin sister, passed down to them through the family.I would be very grateful for any information.

Carole,

I would be very interested in making ocntact with you. I am the Chairman of the Braughing Local History Society and have in fact recently doen some history relating to the history of the Axe and Compasses, which was ran by the Barron family for almost 100 years. If you go to the History page > Publications > Click Here you will be directed to my email address. Please send me an email and I shall get back to you. I have quite a bit of information about the family. I would also be very keen to know more about your _link_s with the family.

Write soon
