Broadband 3 Years, 4 Months ago
Hi. Is anyone having trouble with broadband especially with AOL. We and our neighbour are having great trouble with AOL broadband lately. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. But mostly it keeps dropping out and we have to keep reconnecting. Would be interesting to see if anyone else is having a similar problem.

Thanks

Yes, I do. I live in Green End in Braughing and am with BT. Since mid July, the connection has been failing from about 8pm to 11-12pm. Where are you? Is it specific times with you? Anybody else got this problem? Of course the providers wont tell us there is a problem.

According to www.adslguide.org.uk - Wanadoo (used to be Freeserve), AOL and BT Broadband are all pretty poor in Speed, Reliability and Customer Service. BT have particular annoying technical issues when using a non BT email account such as your own domain name. Good suppliers are Pipex, Entanet and Plusnet. Personally I have used Plusnet for dial-up, ISDN and broadband and they have been excellent in all 3 areas. See www.plus.net

thanks for your reply. Sorry it has taken me a while to reply. AOL and BT seemed to have settled down a little now, but still having problems running the broadband checker.

I suggest that you look at Eclipse. Reasonable and very reliable.
