St Mary's Church Hall, Braughing

Police Helicopter Incident Print E-mail
On the evening of 5 May a Police helicopter caused a certain amount of consternation by sweeping back and forth over the Braughing Friars area of the village with searchlights and heat-seeking equipment . The reason for this activity was that Police believed a Bishops Stortford male with suicidal tendencies was in the area parked in his car. He was not considered to pose any danger to anyone other than himself. On operations such as this it is simply not possible to contact everyone in the path of the helicopter to alleviate fears. However any householder who has concerns in any future incident should make a call to the police non-emergency number 0845330022 for information.
