The bells were rung at St Mary's Church in Braughing to welcome and celebrate the arrival of their new vicar. Jeanette Gosney was formally appointed as priest in charge for the parishes of Braughing, Furneaux Pelham and Stocking Pelham at a licensing service on Tuesday the 30^th August.

Over 200 parishioners, friends and family joined Jeanette in the service, which was taken by The Right Reverend Christopher Foster, Bishop of Hertford. In his sermon, the Bishop described how Jeanette had shown so much enthusiasm in both her application and her interview that she was the natural choice. Her dedication was such that he was confident that she would give great service to all, in the three parishes. Representatives from other denominations, and the chairmen of the local parish councils also welcomed Jeanette, as did the head teachers from the local village schools. Jeanette looks forward to working with the schools and getting involved with the local community.
