Four cars in Braughing were discovered early this morning (Mon 25 Sep 2006) with smashed windows. Each of the cars had the back windows smashed and nothing was apparently taken from the vehicles. A similar incident was also discovered today with two cars in Barleycroft End, Furneux Pelham. Here they had their offside windows smashed sometime today. A stone was found inside both cars that were parked around 100 metres apart. The force of the stone could mean a device like a catapult was used. If anyone saw anything suspicious, or has any information please contact the local police on 0845 3300 222 or use the Contact Us form on this website. |

For those of you who are over the age of 11 [year 7 up] Are you interested in what Christianity is all about? Have you ever wondered who Jesus really was? It will take place in Braughing on various Sunday evenings [7-8.30pm] starting on 17 September. We meet for pizza, hotdogs, or similar, and then think about questions like ‘is Christianity boring, untrue and irrelevant? Who was Jesus? The answer to that question for many is ‘no’. Church is ‘boring’, or Sundays are too busy, or…. But sometimes, youngsters are asking questions about God, sometimes parents want their children to learn about the Bible but don’t know what’s available. So below is an outline of what the 3 parish churches offer for children and young people. If you’d like to know more, do get in touch or just turn up! We’d love to welcome you. |

I have been asked to write a brief note to explain why we need to raise more money for our church in Braughing. The cost of running our village church, excluding repairs to the fabric, amounts to £34,000 per year. This includes, for example, clergy costs [stipend, housing, expenses etc], insurance, heating, lighting and resources for services and young people’s work. We raise money by having fundraising events during the year and also earn a certain amount in fees for weddings and funerals. |
