What a busy end to a busy term! We have enjoyed many different events during the last few weeks – Indian Dance workshop, lots of different sporting activities including our own wonderful Sports day, an ART curriculum week with a special workshop run by two artists, a fantastic KS2 production of ‘Daft Jack and the Beanstack’, a trip to Frinton for the whole school, Open Evening and Awards and finally the Leaver’s Assembly. All this as well as getting on with our hard work and assessments for the end of year and of course that mountain of paperwork for us grownups! I feel that all of us deserve a well earned rest over the summer before starting all over again in September. Christine Davidson Headteacher |

We have just returned to school to enjoy the Summer Term after a very busy and exciting end of Spring Term. We had a stimulating curriculum week based on Drama, Mask Making and Puppetry when we had a professional puppeteer in school and invited Anstey School along to join us. At the end of the week we put on our own varied and exciting production showing off our many talents. Before that we had mothers into school for a Mothers Day Celebration where we successfully tugged at the heart strings! We had been working as a whole school on improving our Drama so we had plenty of opportunity to practise. During the Spring Term we raised nearly £800 for Barnados by caring for an egg for a week. One lucky pupil won Barney the Bear in a prize draw. Class 3 ran their own hugely successful Spring Fair and café, raising money for school fund. They made fantastic entrepreneurs and would have done well on ‘Dragon’s Den’! Now we are looking forward to gardening projects, our residential trip to Aylmerton and all sorts of exciting things to do this term. We would like to appeal to anyone locally who could be a part time dinner lady (or man) 2 days a week for us. Please get in touch with the school if you can. Christine Davidson Headteacher. |

We are looking forward to Spring and the changes it will bring – especially being able to use our lovely field. Our grounds look particularly pretty in the spring and summer and our view across the valley allows us to watch the seasons change. February saw us working hard in school, assessing children’s progress and holding parent consultations, doing lots of drama, celebrating Mother’s Day and having Barnados in school to do a special fund raising assembly. As I write this piece we are looking forward to having afternoon tea with the Golden age Club. The school really does want to be a central part of the village and is happy to have visitors, volunteer and to welcome groups and classes. We do have a vacancy for a part time mid day supervisor! Anyone interested? And soon Easter will be upon us! Christine Davidson, Headteacher. |
