Community Plan Update Print E-mail

Following the circulation of the Parish Plan questionnaire and results last year, we are delighted to report that some groups and organisations have begun to explore ways to build on the Community Plan initiative:

· Braughing WI held an open meeting in February on recycling

· Jenyns School have invited the Golden Age Club to come into the school for afternoon tea on a regular basis. The children will have the chance to talk to the older people about life in the village several decades ago! The older people will have the chance to integrate with the pupils, with a longer term view to helping with reading, sewing, crafts and other activities within the school.

· Braughing Music Society are going to be borrowing the staging from Jenyns School for their concerts in St Mary's Church. This should help improve the appearance of the concerts and give greater enjoyment to the audience.

· It is hoped to run a series of adult education classes at Jenyns School. Subjects currently being investigated include IT, languages, genealogy, dancing and music appreciation. Further details coming soon.
