Sunday 21 and the village was buzzing.  Some 30 teams of adults and children joined forces to support The Great Braughing Treasure Hunt, arranged by the Braughing Playing Field Association Trust in aid of funds.

Starting from The Community Centre, teams were briefed and set off with a ‘shopping list’, clues and a quiz to complete on the journey around the centre of Braughing.

A great deal of fun was had on the way with some teams combining forces especially for the picture questions, one of which required all team members to be photographed in the telephone box on the Square.

On returning to The Community Centre, the teams answers were marked whilst they had well earned refreshments and hearty “Braughing Bangers”.  The winning team, The Wombles, were triumphant.  They said, “hank you for the entertaining morning. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - Marion & Mike Saunders, Charlotte(13), Christian(12) & Wendy Williams.

Our thanks go to Ronnie, at White’s Butchers for kindly supplying the sausages at a ‘charitable rate’, the Trust’s management team and to everybody who took part in making this event the stunning success that it was.

Everybody, who took part, enjoyed the event and the Trust aim to make this an annual event.

Clive Marshall – Chairman Braughing Playing Field Association Trust
