On Saturday 10 May, the bellringers from St Mary's Church, Braughing organised an evening based on the theme of the all time favourite film "The Sound of Music". More than 80 people turned up to support the evening, which was held to raise funds for the Friends of St Mary's. The amount raised is

£1400

The audience comprised of a habit of nuns, a troupe of mountaineers, and a whole family of Von Trapps. The stage was filled with two life sized cows, against a mountainous backdrop.

Everyone enjoyed an evening full of fun and laughter, with the whole audience singing along to songs from the movie throughout the evening. Dinner was provided and much appreciated by all, starting with an Austrian appetiser, called Liptauer, a cream cheese based dish. For main course, there was Goulash, salad and bread, followed by Apfeltorte and cream for dessert.
