We have just returned to school to enjoy the Summer Term after a our half term holiday. As always last half term was very busy. Class 3 enjoyed a fantastic time away on a residential trip. They had all tried out new experiences and learned new skills. All classes have done some gardening and growing. Classes 1 and 2 visited a farm and had lots of fun with a variety of activities. These visits were in response to the ‘Year of Food and Farming’. Thanks to Young Farmers for help with this! Our School Council have been working hard on important issues such as road safety around the site and the smooth running of dinner times. The Golden Age Club came up for tea and it was lovely to see you all. And more recently we had a lunch to which Golden Age members came – we hope to see you again soon! This half term we are enjoying tennis and gymnastic lessons in addition to our usual PE, joining in Inter School Sports and Rounders Tournament and generally keeping very fit. Class 3 have been learning about children in Victorian times and as part of their project they dressed up and visited a Victorian house which they found a bit grim. I think all the children are glad not to have been living in Victorian times. Later in the term we are having a whole school seaside visit to Frinton. So, we are out and about a lot! We are holding an ‘Art’ curriculum week with an exhibition to be viewed at our Open Evening in July. We would like to appeal to anyone locally who could be a part time dinner lady (or man) 1 day a week for us. Please get in touch with the school if you can. Christine Davidson Head teacher.
