Gravelly Lane Development - Appeal Refused Print E-mail

Good news has arrived - the Inspector from the Department of the Environment has dismissed the appeal.

In his report, he said:
'I therefore conclude on the main issues I have identified that the development proposed would be harmful to local character and would, contrary to the underlying objective policy BH6, fail to preserve or enhance the character or appearance of the Braughing Conservation Area. It would, in fact, cause harm  to the area's character and appearance.'

This sets an important precedent and a strong message that Conservation Areas are indeed for conserving!
