The villages of Braughing, Puckeridge and Standon are taking part in a regional programme called Cut your Carbon, which allows us to work out a carbon footprint for all our residents and get funding for energy related projects. If you're interested in working out your carbon footprint, please go to www.cutyourcarbon.org.uk and search by your postcode for the Braughing, Puckeridge and Standon group which is called 3 Veg. You'll need your electricity and gas bills (or other fuel bills) and some idea of your annual mileage for any vehicles you own. The system uses the government assured calculator called Act On CO2, and will provide you with hints and tips on what you can do to save energy based on the information you provide. Cut your Carbon is run by the East of England Development Agency, who are giving away £2.5 million to community projects that cut carbon emissions.
