We are a small village church with a warm, welcoming and faithful congregation – a mixture of ages and backgrounds, who try to live out our calling to love God, follow Jesus and be led by God’s spirit.

We have a service most Sundays and once a month there is an All-Age Communion service which is especially suitable for children. However, children are always welcome at every service – there is a small area with toys and activity sheets to colour and complete which are related to the service.

There is a pre-school group, which meets fortnightly during term time, called Little Fishes. It meets in the church hall and there are simple craft activities and songs for the children and refreshments, with time for parents and carers to chat. For more information, please email Jean Hubbard here >>>. On alternate weeks to Little Fishes, there is Little Fishes church, again in the church hall.  This is church for the very young and their carers.  We use puppets, shakers, singing and simple interactive story telling in this 20 minute service and afterwards there is a craft activity related to the story, refreshments and play.

We have held our first Messy Church – a fresh way of doing church which is accessible for all and this will become an occasional but regular feature of our worship.

We have a small, robbed, choir which is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music. Children over 7 yrs and adults are welcome to join the choir. There is no audition and choristers follow the “Voice for Life” chorister training scheme. Each grade or exam is marked by a different coloured ribbon and medallion - more details in a booklet at the back of church, please email Carolina Castillo here >>>.

We also hold special services such as a Pet service and Songs of Praise and share our worship with the Methodists three times a year.

The church is open during the day for anyone who wishes to use it for quiet prayer or reflection. We have a House Group which meets fortnightly, Mothers’ Union and a thriving bell-ringers team, for more information click here >>>. Other activities include 2nd October when we always celebrate the village tradition of Old Man’s Day, which both young and old enjoy.

During the summer people in the church and village provide ‘Sunday Teas’ with home-made cakes and a Country Stall, helping to raise funds for the fabric of the church, click here >>> for more information.

The Friends of St Mary’s also raise funds to help us to maintain and improve our beautiful grade 1 listed building - clickhere >>> for more information.

The churchyard is beautifully maintained and many people come to visit it. Please contact the church office for information about relatives’ graves.
