This was set up to assist Hertfordshire residents in the shielded category. These are the most vulnerable residents who are required to remain in lockdown for 12 weeks. There are 15,649 Hertfordshire residents on this list and 700 food parcels have already been delivered to those residents that have requested them. Deliveries of medical prescriptions have also been arranged. A further 900 food and toiletries parcels have been delivered to food banks, charities and district and borough councils.
Currently there are 8,319 volunteers registered who supply support for residents not in the shielded category and are self-isolating. This could involve delivering their shopping, collecting medical prescriptions or simply giving telephone support.
There are many local voluntary organisations operating independently within towns and villages and these are asked to register their details with #TeamHerts so that enquiries received can be directed to them. Residents requiring support should contact Herts Help 0300 123 4044
We are in unprecedented times and the only way we will come out of this is to abide by the Government guidelines:
Nevetts Care Home
You may be aware that Nevetts in Buntingford closed its doors to residents in May 2019. Due to the Coronavirus crisis, HCC has decided to mobilise the facility again. This will be to provide 40 beds for hospital patients not quite ready to return home, and free up much needed bed space at Lister Hospital for Covid-19 patients requiring hospital treatment.
I receive many requests for advice and help on county council matters. If you have any concerns that you need help with, I am always available on the contact details below.
