The Braughing Sing is a community choir, based in Braughing, Hertfordshire. Directed by Sarah Mapplebeck, we are also lucky to be accompanied by a pianist rather than by recorded backing tracks. The choir sings music in a variety of styles, mostly three part harmony. It is open to all ages and abilities. There are no auditions and you do not need to be able to read music. The only requirement is plenty of enthusiasm! Just turn up and join in.
Braughing Sing members are encouraged to attend rehearsals on a regular basis so that the choir can progress and reach a good standard for performances. However the main aim is to have fun and enjoy ourselves, getting to know new music and improving our sound.
The choir rehearses on Tuesdays during term times from 7.30-9pm at Jenyns School, Braughing, SG11 2QJ. We also try to give at least two concerts during the year, one at Christmas and one during the summer, raising money for local and national organisations.
Fees are paid termly based on a cost of £4 per rehearsal. New members are always welcome to come and try out the choir free of charge for a couple of weeks.
